Have you noticed the Telnet client is missing from Vista? Not actually. You just need to enable this feature in Windows Vista.
- Start
- Control Panel
- Programs
- Under the heading "Programs and Features", click Turn Windows Features on or off
- Click Telnet Client
- Click OK
Wait a few minutes and viola you have enabled the Telnet Client. No restart needed.

Apparently if you're enlightened enough to have Vista, you don't need Telnet anymore.
